Hey guys,

I was looking for my first project (EVER!) and found a '69 half cab online. It's missing the engine, transmission, and transfer case, but otherwise is all there. I also came across a '69 mustang 302 and c4(from the same car). So my question is: Will the c4 fit without significant modification? Also, I realize I still need a transfer case, but would it be possible to just leave it off and have a 2wd Bronco, with minor drive shaft mods? I know, I know...but I don't plan on driving it off pavement or on snowy days. Again, I'm completely knew to this "project" thing, but have been a Bronco fan since I can remember!

I should mention that everything is stock on the Bronco, except for the steering column. The previous owner converted to automatic trans. And I have not yet bought the 302/c4.

Hi Steve..,

IMHO, you're trying to cut a "BIG NUT"..! Because; ("looking for my first project EVER!")

You could prob. do what you're saying but, it may be as expensive as doing it "right". I say this because you may have to/want to sell the rig at some point.

The rear of the stock set-up (drive train) is held in place by the T-CASE cross member. Meaning it's (T-case) the rear motor mount as well. You would have to fabricate a crossmember to hold up the rear of eng./transmission.

"Will the c4 fit without significant modification?"

No, not really, as stated above..., along with some wiring/plumbing work.

Have fun with whatever you decide.... >:D< <'>

Thanks for the info. That sounds way more expensive/complicated/annoying than I initially thought. I'll just go for the tried and true 302, 3sp combo with Tcase.

Wise move...says I... >:D< <'>
ALSO.., check/be sure as to what eng. was in there..!! An I-6 or a V/8.
Makes a big diff. where the motor mounts are located.
