I, tried to reuse the original power steering unit. This station wagon--yes, its WEST Virginia title is for a station wagon!--sat for twenty years, with the lines disconnected. I, couldn't get the original to work. I, then installed a remanufactured, O'Reilly power steering pump. This pump worked intermittently, and then finally quit; so, I took it back. I, purchased another remanufactured pump, from the KOI Fisher Auto Parts, in Dayton, Ohio, and it worked immediately! https://www.mapquest.com/us/ohio/fisher-auto-parts-346220705

Nice looking truck. What an accomplishment.

Did you ever think it was going to get this far?

I always got so tired not having time or money to finish something. Can be rather depressing.

After twenty years, it moves under its own power, again! The hood, will be reinstalled, and collector car insurance, will be bought. The title, will be transferred from WEST Virginia, to Ohio.
On the collector car insurance. Make sure you read the fine print. Before they will pay for anything--it has to be in bice shape,. They might look at all the mecahnical part--tires--interior--exterior BEFORE they will pay out much. Sounds like you had as much bad luck with your 78 as I have with mine. About the same lenght of time too and the same color-even the sliding windows. I put a 390 in mine and it has a 4 speed transmission. Good luck. Welcome to the club.

With, a Ohio 30-day temporary tag, and Grundy collector car insurance, I'm off to Centerville's Ohio DMV. I, made it there, and back home. I, ran a half-a-tank of gas out, and it's time to put the hood back on.

Well, it hasn't run since 2002, when a valve's head came off. The 400 engine is in, and it has flattops, and adjustable 351C two-barrel heads. I'm working on the MSD installation now, and waiting on a Be Cool fan, to get unloaded from a ship. Maybe, in the spring, it will be at a cruise in!
Bob,are you waiting on a special fan? If not then one should not be hard to find at a junk yard . Alot cheaper then a parts store .

Looks great!
I love the ingenuity you demonstrated with your rigging to put that hood on yourself!
I always say "That why I had kids!"
Very Nice job, You should be proud!
PS I love the look!
I took a slightly different approach with my 79, but still maintained the patina. I have a thread running of the build.
Not too many of them lived, its nice to save the ones that did!
Congrats.
Cheers

It has been a summer, full of going to cruise-ins. During the summer, I had the yoke, spin on the pinion shaft. After much thought, I put 4:11's, and a Detroit Locker in it. Someday, the granny-low four speed will be replaced, and the 4:11's should be a good gear choice. This winter, I plan to put 4:11's and a limited slip, in the front.

Nice job you re doing on your bronco. Do you have a lift under it or planning on one? You might want to check the gas filler hose between the body and frame. One of my bronco is the same color as yours. I put a 390 in mine and it has a 4 speed. I,m looking for a aluminiun intake for mine. If you have or now anyone who has one for sale. I would be interested it it. Thanks for shareing your pictures.

I, have put 4:11's in the front, reverse rotation Dana 44, and here is the pattern. The backlash, is 0.01, and the rotation is 20 inch pounds. It, now has a Eaton TrueTrac in it. https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/skuPage.913A590.html I'm about ready, to take out the set-up bearings, and assemble it with the Timken bearings. The Dana, is harder to work on, than the Ford nine-inch. A case spreader, is definitely needed!

I, have put new ball joints, and universal joints in it. A new steering shaft, is bought, and I'll powder coat the steering column red, to match the front differential cover.

I found a thread about brakes:

http://www.broncotech.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000933.html

It says to use a 1978 F350 4WD, or 2WD booster, and master cylinder. I'm going to use the kit, from Jegs: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/630604/10002/-1, and this adjustable proportioning valve: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/63022/10002/-1. I, had bought a proportioning valve, from eBay, for a disc/drum application, and I'll take the spring out of it, to make it a distribution block. All because, I can't find backing------
