my front end pops when i turn it and the tire on the left side is tilted in on the top alot and also some on the right side to is this the ball joint or what could this be and how can i fix it . i am kinda tryin to get some ideas because alot of tire shops around here cant hook up to it because the tires are so big but everytime i turn it, it pops some and it isnt the kinda sound it makes when it rubs its more of a crackin sound ...is this related to the tires being tilted in to far , i also changed to inner and outter bearing and repacked them good so it cant be that the tires progressively have beemn getting worse is there anyway i can adjust on them without the help from and alignment machine? any input would greatly be appreciated thanx

Sounds to me like you need an alignment, mine was doing the same as yours and i got an alingment , all 4 tires balanced, and some new bushings and all was fine again. Hope things work out for you.

How are your tie rod ends? If they are dry they would pop, ball joints could be bad. If you dont know how to test them, Jack up the truck and put one hand on the bottom of your front tire, one on the top and try and move it up and down, if it moves your balljoints are toast. If all that checks out, check your radius arm to frame bushings. They are known to come loose, makes quite a thunking noise at times. How about your axles? are the hubs manuel or automatic? If your hubs are locked in and your u-joints in your axles are bad it will also make funny noises around corners..... Looks like you have some work to do, looking forward to hearing your results.

i just got done putting some radius arm bushings on about a month ago i have manual hubs i have to change them over because they engaged all the time going down the road but as far as the tire moving up and down it moves alot when i jack it up and my bearingrs are good though i just changed and packed them but ill probably will get new tire rod ends because the boots are busted and see if thats the problem... thanx

Definately sounds like ball joints. When you install them, grease the **** out of everything.

I lifted my truck 2 inches in the front and it did the same thing. You need to have the camber adjusted. I would take it to a four wheel drive shop or a reputable mechanic. No Sears or Firestone.

Not enough people write back after their problem is solved, so noone learns from it. Good to hear back
