Do you have the teeth in the motor gear lined up with the teeth in the gear in the assembly that moves the window up and down? Thats what it was for me when I had that issue.

I'd check for a restriction to the regulator, possible wires nearly completely broken where they flex when the door is opened and closed, The regulator spring may be broken (it is required to asist the motor in raising the window).

On my truck, the window stopped way down in the door channel anyway & wouldn't come up, so I added a stop that limits the travel. Now the glass stops right at the weatherstrip and it rolls up fine. I believe motors sometimes get a burned spot from starting and stopping at the same point over and over. Also, if the "rollers" in the gear have disentigrated, this will cause operation problems even if you clean out the pieces. The rollers have to be present for the gear reduction to operate properly.
