another question, i changed the IAC and my serp belt today and theres a pretty loud squeeking coming some where from around the pullys. Any thoughts? It sounds like its coming from the fan but its kinda hard to tell. Also, the check engine light has started to come on alot and i have no idea why. I got the codes checked and they told me to replace the IAC which i did. The check engine light stopped coming on as much but it still comes on some times when i accelerate kinda fast. And it stays on till i turn my truck off and turn it back on

yo!

For the Codes;

Try a Self Test for Codes;

and;

Self Test - A technician that is unfamiliar with the EEC Self-Test can mistakenly believe that continuous Memory codes are not present when they really are. He may run KOER Self-Test and get a pass code (111) and not realize that KOEO Self-Test must be run to receive any Continuous Memory codes. He may run KOEO Self-Test while counting MIL flashes and misinterpret the repeated hard fault pass code (111) to mean that Continuous Memory does not contain any codes. The engine temperature must be greater than 50

Did you check the new belt against the old belt before installation??

As long as they were very very close to the same length then it is probably a idler or tensioner pulley that is glazed!

Last year, at about 100K miles I put new Serpentine Tensioner & Idler pullies on my 99 Crown Vic. Your Bronco has to be 3 to 19 years older. The bearings rarely get oiled or greased. You can try meisk5's trick for listening to them, or take pressure off of them, and give them a spin. if they are tight, or feel gritty, you can oil them (the bearings), but sooner rather than later they will need to be replaced.

BTW... be sure to think SAFETY before you open the hood with a running engine. Don't wear loose clothing, ties, or hoods with cords dangling that could get caught in any moving parts.

i held it up to the old belt and this belt was really old. i mean like there were cracks all the way through it and the belt was stretched out about an inch and a half or so
