2wd conversion has been talked about and most people know my opinion on that, I don't think it should be done. As far as drag racing an EB, you better lengthen the wheel base by a foot or so for stability. I think you would be better off getting a truck to do this with because you can strip everything off it and it has the length to better suit your needs. The other thing is that an EB is about as aerodynamic as a brick. Your times won't be anywhere close to what you would like because the windshield is almost flat and has no smooth back movement for the air flow. A truck will have better aerodynamics than an EB ever could dream of having. For that matter, if you are wanting to drag a Bronco, get a full size to do it with, longer wheel base, more sweeping lines and has the frame already set up for 351 power.

I understand what you are saying but i see a lot of people at the track w/ a older box style s-10 which isn't much more aerodynamic than the EB and the wheel base is almost the same as well? I have already got the rear suspension kinda set up w/ a superlift off road tracsion bars and even if i do a axle flip kit i can flip the tracksion bars and they will work in the same way. but thanks for the info..

I think that it is not a a very bad idea considering engine, axles, and chassis. Trying this reuquired a very good job. Try not to create something similar as STLKIKN pictures. I would like to see a low rider EB.

I do side work for the American Sand Drag Association. And I have seen two different EB's turned into sand dragsters. One the owner cut 3 FEET out of the center, both in length and in width turning it into a one seater. also I have see one that was converted to 2wd and the body left original. The 2nd is Very impressive, making about 600 HP, running 100yds in the sand in just over 3 seconds and looks great doing it. The owner is very proud of it and owns a few EB's.

no not a bad idea at all as long as you keep the orig look to it somewhat. DO NOT DO WHAT THE GUY THAT POSTED PICS UP TOP DID, that looks hideous. what you might what to do is look for an old "Cinturion" the 4 door bronc. that would give you a longer wheel bast to work with but more to strip. I like the idea of a bronco drag machine with some slick 50's and a blower engine. Plus your spare tire swing arm will double as a wheelie bar jk.

Just for clarification...

NEITHER of those EBs are mine, and I have never seen either of them in person.... the web is a wonderful place to find oddball pics of someone elses "projects"

Kinda like this one too....

Two things to consider:

(1) Nothing is sacred. Build what you want.

(2) Building a drag racing Bronco sounds like a great way to lose alot of drag races. If you want to win drag races, build a mustang.1star.JPG1brutus1.JPG2swc3.JPG2Troj.JPG3ruth.JPG
