1966 Bronco Tailgate

Has anyone ever seen a tailgate like this one on my 66????

It appears to be factory can not see any out of place welds or anything.

nope, someone has fiddled with it. That is a piece of tubing in there that someone cut out the rusted part and welded in.

I had a couple bronco dudes look at it there are no welds showing and there is no rust on the truck they said it looks original but have yet to see one either

My early '66 is not like that...the sheetmetal comes up & follows that angle in the corner.

However, if done properly, that repair / modification should be fine.
