000_0424.JPG000_0427.JPG000_0426.JPGi am new to this site and am in need of some help i have a 78 bronco with a 351m in it. i was wondering if they make an adapter plate to put in a 302 and still use the 351 tranny and transfer case. the 302 i have is just as powerful as the 351m but weighs half as much

no but i've heard from many people that a 302 weighs half as much :unsure:

You might want to research that a bit... :-B I doubt there's any weight advantage.

There is, however, about 1000# difference between your truck & an EB. (302 works well in an EB)

I think you'll be suprisingly un-happy with the lack of power the 302 gives compared to the 351...especially with the big tires. I believe your fuel consumption will rise as well.

If you have a 4 speed trans then all you need is the bell housing and flywheel for a small block. There has to be the correct z-bar for a small block set up some where. I would install a 351W over a 302. I would even install the good old 300 6cly over a 302. If you have an auto trans you need a small block C6 trans from a 4x4 or you can take the output shaft from your current C6 and install it in the small block 4x2 C6 case making it a 4x4 trans. Not sure what has to be done for the frame/motor mounts.

well thats good to know i am a chevy man and the only reason i bought a bronco is because the blazer cost three times as much so i am crossing over into the bronco world and hoping to enjoy it alot so far so good
