Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting a front end hitch installed, I got a 96' Bronco XLT, 5.3 Windsor. Specifically getting it for a snow plow attachment. Any experience with this, good or bad? Any recommendations on where to get the hitch from, I live in the Boise, ID area.

Thank you,

Many tips on how to mount the Meyers mount link, such as:

"The Meyer mounting will not work if the vehicle has dual front shock and / or a front (1A)stabilizer bar which is part of the 3550 FGAWR package. This is noted in the instruction sheet for the mounting listed on their web site."

BUT, Others remove ththe sway bar and forwarforward shock if it has  dual front shock option...

"get a mount for a 150 should be the same . we've had 7 broncos with plows never had a problem added front hd springs which really helped alot."

"At the school district I work for we have a 1993 Ford Bronco with a 7.5' Fisher Minute Mount hanging off of it, They have been working this thing for nearly 12 years and had no adverse effect on the truck.

I can't see why you can't get a Meyer Classic mounting Carton for a 1992-1996 Ford F150 and be done with it! I can tell you everything from the fire wall forward on a Bronco is the same as an F150, so go for it!"

"Lots of people plow with Broncos including me. They might not make/sell "NEW" plows, but they did make them. I have a complete Meyer ST 7.5 EZ Mount Classic from a 94 Bronco. If you have the plow itself, just look for the mount and light wiring on eBay."

"92 was a model year change. They redesigned the front frame horns. If you look, the front rails look like an accordian. They did this as a "crumple zone" type thing during collisions."

..

Convolutes, Frame Rail (often called Crumple Zone) in 92-96 Bronco;

"those "crumple" zones don't exactly crumple at all. most slap some flat plate on the accordions so it's easier to mount stuff to them and forget about them.

Steve repaired a bronco that got hit so hard in the LF the frame became diamond shaped. Crumple zone took zero damage."
"If you cut Crumple Zones or brace around them for any reason, I recommend that you unplug your airbag module. Without the crumple zones to delay the impact, the airbag could **** you."

Welcome to the Zone!

I love to see some photos of the Bronco before and after adding the plow!
