I'm removing radiator core and fender wells as one piece . I have all spotwelds drilled out and body mounts done . Was wondering about the two brackets that hold the fender wells to the firewall?

How best to get them off without much damage ? Thanks

I would drill the spot welds from underneath the fenderwell (obviously with wheel off)

When assembly time.., it could  be bolted back together.

Or, a patch on the bracket & re-welded to/thru the wheel well holes.

That's what I was wondering if there were spotwelds on the inner side of the fender well cause I couldn't see them with the undercoating. Thanks Bob!

I see progress.., I didn't go that deep.  I pulled off the dr. side fender & replaced the apron.

If you're going to pull the core, fenderwells, & aprons all in one piece.., there's going to be some floping

around of the aprons. They're flat & a bit thin.

Looks like you can clean-up/straighten, & re-use a lot of that.

BTW.., what's the reason/plan for all this removal..?

--- Some of those sheetmetal parts are pretty cheap as I recall. ---

Well I was going to do a frame off resto mod and started finding a lot of rust so then I got sidetracked with the idea of building a rotisserie with plans I downloaded from redwing steel works . Then I found quite a few people saying the body on a bronco is really weak and can bend so it would be better to remove the core and fenders

Folks attach braces across the top of the door pillars as the door entry floor area is the weak point

when body is detached.

Did you try searching "body removal" on this website..?  Seems a few guys posted picks of this some time back.

Added some more pics. As you can see my space is limited, so I have decided to use a wheeled body cart then I can move it around as needed and even outdoors if I have to. By removing the front clip I gain about 3 feet of space

You already have over 100 views on this thread.

You'll likely have a large following on this project.  You (& we) would be best served if you fill-in the rest of

your signature page with your goals/plans for this rig. These pages are fluid & can easily be updated at any time

with what's completed & what's next, etc. (see mine below)

This also gives you a documented history, along with the pictures you will be taking.

RU going to patch/repair the sheetmetal or replace or some of both..?

We're here to go thru it with you..,  restore on..!!!  :D/

I'm doing both patching and replacing . I bought a welder last year and am learning as I go. I have had this truck since the late 80's

But pretty much just stored it. This year I got the bug to start tearing it down. So I will post things as I go and undoubtedly will have lots of questions for the knowledgeable people out there!

Thanks for the help so far! Wish me luck.
