I don't think I have ever seen that.  It appears to be to your heater which is usually a hose, or part of the A/C.  Need some pictures of the ends and where it connects at the front and back from a different angle.  See if you can move other wires or hoses that block the view of where it is connected.

Maybe it will help.

Next I removed the upper hose which supplies coolant to the throttle body and unplug the egr valve.

this is the bottom hose going to the throttle body. It is more accessable here rather than at the throttle body. i also unplugged the IAC which you can see in this shot. It is right below the throttle cable.

Many more pics with narrative by Walt man at http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/488489

I

My Comcast www sucks... been very very slow since Friday, otherwise ..I would post the narrative for you

Yo,

No reply yet.

Have asked another Bronco owner.

For now.. ECT/Heater Hose Outlet Elbow and/or Tube that goes to the heater core inlet and throttle body.

This is for 4.9 enginnes, but may be same for 5.0

E2TZ18599A .. Pipe

Ford suggested retail price: $77.76

More info...

The heater hose connects to a metal pipe which is attached to the threaded hex fitting that screws into the water outlet housing. The temp sensor screws into the side of the threaded hex fitting. I need the hex fitting and the pipe that is between the heater hose and the water outlet housing. I surfed the Dorman HELP! site and didn't come up with anything. We have a great shop in Garden Grove that carries all kinds of fittings and I will check there. They stocked the same kind of fitting for my Aerostar, a part I couldn't find at any auto parts store.

Check with local napa. And ford dealer parts dept.

Yo,

I believe you could go to your local auto supply store and they or a more fully equipped auto store could come up with some fittings that will do the same thing as the damaged part you show. It appears the base thread is 3/8 pipe thread. They have all sorts of fittings that you can get to come pretty close to do what that damaged fitting does.

Take the entire fitting with you and they should be able to make one come pretty close.

There are even fittings made to connect the heater hose to. Don't laugh, a plumbing supply store may even be able to help you out.

The hardest part may be to find a fitting with the correct thread to accept the sensor and the auto store should have that fitting.

The size fitting that goes onto the engine could also be 1/4 pipe thread.

Short version Ford part number is 18B402.

See it in...5.0L Exploded parts diagram

Great!

Lots of Penetrating Fluid (or make your own w/acetone (or nail polish rebover) and ps fluid or auto trans fluid, 50/50 mix) helps

Yo,

Got a confirmation finally; ECT threads into octagonal tube that's threaded into lower intake manifold and has a small TB cooling tube and hose AND another metal tube/hose threaded into the side which goes to the heater core inlet.
