1986 Bronco II base model 4x4 Lift?

Recommended Posts

I want to lift my 1986 Ford Bronco II 4x4 with the base trim. I don't want to overdo it, and I know that if I lift it too high, it will become much more unstable and top heavy. I need suggestions on how to combat this topheaviness, as well as low prices. Anyone who can help should! Pictures to come

Hey b2,

First a question....why lift it at all?   Lifting does raise the roll center, and your concern is justified.  You can push the wheels out with offset rims, but that can bring clearance issues again , as well as compliance if there are vehicle regulations in your area.

Every modification comes with a compromise.

What are your goals and main use for your truck?

Ditto Rons post...,

Keep in mind the B-II is a bit tippy from the get-go.

When doing a lift "CHEAP" (low prices) should not be in your vocabulary.  Quality, reliability, & safety are job 1.

Having said that.., any vehicle can tip if mishandled or improperly used.

Continue doing your homework, books, magazines, online, etc.

Keep in mind, any major change usually requires 2 more changes.

It's all doable.., just takes planing & lots of thought. :-B
