well if your keeping your stock fan then you have to cut a section out of the lower portion of the shroud so the fan will not hit, or you could get rid of the stock fan and replace it with a good electric fan and not have to mess with the shroud at all
You may be better off going with an electric fan. If you do go that way, I'd suggest a Lincoln Mark VIII especially if it gets real hot in your area during the Summer. The Mark VIII fan has a built in shroud which you need in order to efficiently pull air through the radiator, especially when moving slow or not at all. Most electric fans do not come with a shroud and they are generally marginal since most are in the 2000- 3000 CFM range while the Mark VIII runs at 4200 CFM.
The Mark VIII would require an alternator upgrade to at least to a 3G 135 Amp version because the Lincoln fan has a 100 amp start current but immediately settles down to 35 amps while running. Neither upgrade is a difficult job. Some of the parts can be purchased from a local auto parts recycler. I bought my fan for $25 bucks and the alternator for $30. Other parts you would need are: a Controller for the fan, aluminum L stock, a heavy duty wheel chair relay with contacts rated at 100 amps or better, (from a parts store), a diode from Radio Shack. For the alternator upgraded battery charge cable available from RJM. He also has the alternators if you want a new one. http://www.rjminject...harge-cable-kit , http://www.rjminject...cts/pulley-6rib , http://www.rjminject...ons/alternators .
