This has probably been covered before but I am looking for info on upgrading my factory exhaust on my 93 ford Bronco with a 351w. I would also like to put headers on the truck as well. I generally use the truck in the backcountry to get me to my favorite hiking area and some on road driving. It is also my tow vehicle for my travel trailer.

I don't want to wake the neighbours up when my truck is running, so obviuosly keeping the noise of the exhaust down is one area of concern.

Anyone have any past experience that they can share?

Thanks

Andy

Well I got a flowmaster 40 series on my 5.0 Bronco.

It sounds really really nice! It has a nice deep tone..barley hear it when crusing and I get compliments all the time when driving around. It's not one of them loud annoying mufflers. Just a nice deep settle tone. At idle you can hear it, but again, it's not loud and annoying as I too have neighbors and leave for work at 5:30am.

If I can, I'll upload video later today for ya so you can hear it!

yo Andy,

As long as you're Not in California;

Here are some options and products to consider

94 w/Bassani Y pipe & Walker DynoMax® Turbos & 2.5 inch duals pics in a 5.0

Walker is the OEM for Ford exhausts less da cats; the truck muffler is a little deeper sound than the standard oem ****... Walker also makes other types & Cats that are good.. get aluminized or Ss models from them or any other brand you choose.

Swap, 2 to 1 Advice

Source: by Froggmann (Ken P) at http://www.froggmann.com/Faq/catone.htm

Explanation: It is illegal to replace or modify emmisions control equipment with other-than-stock equipment. But the pre-cats are only there to reduce emmissions until the main cat gets warmed up. So yes, you can go to one cat and you might even burn cleaner with a aftermarket high-flow cat. But you will run the risk of not passing visual inspection.

I have the same thing on my 5.8, and I love em. like Adam said nice deep tone, but not overly loud.

I live in a Development in AZ and I hate my neighbors Hahah... I run mine Loud and Proud! :D/ :D/

Wake em up early and late depending on what time I roll in or out of the neighborhood.

Luckily in AZ we have no noise pollution laws and I live far enough out of the city that I don't have emission to worry about, so I can run what ever I like for my exhaust. :)) :-"

I for one like em loud, but if you want a nice rumble and something that isn't horribly loud a Flowmaster Series 40 is the way to go or a Magnaflow knock off.
