My gear ration is great...but hard to hit 70 MPH. Thinking of replaceing my engine. Have done it in a mustang. Anything unusual here? I have a 91 with a 302 and EFI.

have you looked into it possibly being your transmission? if a healthy 302 can't do it, a 5.8 won't be much better.

Yeah I got a 302 and on my current 1200 mile trip, I was up to 85mph for half an hour. Got 310k miels on my beast.
5.8 will really just provide more power.. a quicker up to speed if youw ill. I really don't want to be doing anything more than 80 in my truck for saftey reasons... (Live where speed limit is 75 on I-25)
