I have an awsome 1993 Ford Bronco XLT with a 5.8 351. I love it and don't want to get rid of it. I have owned it since new but want to adapt it to my business. I want to permanently remove the hardtop and make it a short pickup. I don't want a soft top or no wall. I can't find anything. I want to do this because the top has a crack from an ice storm and the rear windo doesn't work at all and is useless. I could had bought a new tailgate and window in what i put into that to fix that which never worked. But anyways. I don't want to get rid of it for an f150 becuase it has all the heavy duty suspension and everything. It is basicly the f250 but with bronco adaptations since that is the way I ordered it. Can anyone help me try to find a rear bolt in wall for the permanent removal of the hardtop, rear seat and carpet? I would love it because it is so different and I love the way they look with no top. Thanks

I would think it would be way easier to use an f150 and cut down the box to size and install on your frame. Would look a lot more professional in my opinionation too.

Yup, what you want is one of the half-cab conversion kits made by Creative Products in Minnesota.

This link & many others related to half-cab conversions can be found here on Miesk5's Bronco Line website:

You'll maybe want to bookmark Miesk5's site, loads of info available there.

You can also find good photos of the conversion here:

Creative Products also carries solid fiberglass lockable tonneau covers if you're into that sorta thing.

yo!

Creative Products (Out-of-Business; www.creproonline.com) sold the mold to Jeffs Bronco Graveyard; a Jeff's rep. told me that the Bronco fiberglass half-cab conversions w/ glass slider mold was in poor condition upon arrival; he said it should be available Summer 06, but ....

Here is one DIY job; Cab, Half, Conversion pics in a 89

Source: by MudBum

He wrote elsewhere; "...I know it's rough but I've been driving it (couple of weeks) and hunted on it four times without any leaks or trouble. It's ugly but I needed a cheap truck to hunt on. After closing in the cab I decided to rattle can it flat black. The wooden thing in the bed is a dog box (kennel) for transporting hunting dogs.

I cut the top and moved the window frame as close to the cab as I could get it. I closed in under the window using 1"x4" frame with 1/2" exterior plywood glued and screwed on each side of the 1x4 frame. Then covered the bed side of the plywood with thin aluminum glued and screwed. I also flashed the thin alum to bedside/bed glued and screwed. I then cut an old f150 bed liner to fit into the very short bed. On the inside of the cab I covered the plywood with the carpet removed from the backseat area. Then cut the plastic side panels to fit and reinstalled the speakers. Mounted CB in overhead and put a gun rack below window.

There is enough room behind seats for a medium size cooler.

I have tried to get it to leak before installing the bed liner and interior carpet. Used a lot of water through a garden hose.

I sealed it really well using chaulking/adhesvise between the alum that I flashed between the alum and bedsides/bed. The top is covered on the exterior and sealed the same..."
