ON A 289/302 1968 engine, when installing the mach.fuel pump does the fitting point up or down, I thought they were suppose to point down but it doesnt seem to fit, just wounding if i have the right one??

I believe you're refering to the fuel in/out hose bibs......they should be on the bottom.

There will be pressure on the actuating arm against the cam lobe while installing. (spring load)

(The 66-69 vac operated wipers ran off two tubes pointing up, on top of the fuel pump)
