I am putting a 351w into my '73, and as far as I know it is a direct bolt-in. Some issues to consider are: power brake booster clearance (fixed with a body lift); along with firewall clearance, headers (shorties or long tube); oil pan (need a 351 4x4 pan, older vans/trucks or buy new); some added weight up front; I have heard of moving the engine mounts back towards the firewall about 1 inch is an option if you need an inch up front.

Do a google search for 351 swap early bronco. There is a bunch of info. out there on the topic. Hope that helps.

anyone done this swap and what are the pro's and cons of it.
I'm sorry I did it. The 351 just comes with too many engine specific needs. I've had to custom fabricate a million brackets. God help me next time I need to change the v-belts. They really don't fit. I wish I simply dropped in a tried and true 350 hp 302. I'm actually thinking of going with a 4.6L northstar v8 next. Oh yea, my windsor gets a very strong 6 mpg city and 8 highway! It's so sweet feeling the $.50 coming out of my wallet for each mile I drive.
