I have decided to change my fans over to electric as part of rebuilding my motor. I was wonder what would be the best one to use. I plan on running dual fans and I found a kit at a local parts store that has a thermostat and all the wiring with it so all I need are fans. What's everyone's opinion?

Look at my signature, fan from Lincoln Mark VIII 4.6L engine. The fan has a start current around 100 Amps with a running current of 33 Amps. You definitely need a 3G 130 Amp alternator upgrade to go with it. Here is some good reading material on it http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2006/10...k8Fan/index.php

On my superford site ther are pictures of both installations.

Good luck,

:)>-

Hey Seabronc,

Do you have to get a subscription to finish reading the article? it doesn't seem like a problem, but if there is an easy way 'round it....

Sorry, you probably have to have a subscription to read most of the articles. I'm not pushing subscriptions for the site, but the technical information is well worth the price of a subscription. That particular article is mostly pictures and shows the fan I used. The Junkyard fan article is probably better suited for Broncos and gives the equipment needed and prices that are close to what you will actually pay. I did not have to do any trimming on the fan shroud as shown in one of the articles. The reason I went with the Mark VIII fan was the 4200 CFM rating. A lot of people put in electric fans and then have heating problems because it just cant pull enough air. With the Lincoln fan, I have never had a problem even when driving on roads with surface temperatures in excess of 130 degrees. Here is another article in Ford Muscle Magazine that you can read in it's entirety without a subscription, http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/02...icfan/index.php It has a nice wiring diagram. Here is one on 3G conversion http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2001/03...mance/index.php OOPS this one requires a subscription, sorry.

Good luck,

:)>-
