I just installed a complete centrics harness in my 1970 bronco, not sure about the ignition part of install. Engine cranks yet no start. I am a complete novice when it comes to electrical. Can some one help me with a simple diagram of what connects where.I follow directions very well. The directions that came with the kit had severeral variations, which completely confused me. I have a distributer with 2 wires coming from it(red and black).do I need anything else to run to the coil besides these two wires? I beleive I wired the altinator and regulator correctly.I can copy the pages from the install manual if it will help.

Call Centrics support they should be able to help you work it out.

Hi Mike.,

"What Seabronc said" ....plus.., If I recall., there's 1 black wire on the dizzy that runs to the (-) on the coil.

There is 1 red wire that runs fr. the key-switch, thru a ballist resistor, then to the (+) on the coil. (1970 had a "resistor" wire...& that should be in the harness already.)

If you have two (red & black) wires coming out of the dizzy., it's likely an up-graded dizzy with an electronic ignition... i.e. not points.

That's probably why the variations in the directions. This is where they (Centrics) will have to guide you.

However., if you have two wires coming fr. the dizzy & attached to ea. side of the coil...you will have "0" volts at the coil ......thus no spark.

(the coil needs 6v or 12v {depending on the ign. system} on the pos. side to energize the coil)

Let us know how you make out...

B
