l bought a 92 bronco and somebody cut the original 3 prong plug that goes to top of alt there are three wires 2black 1 white bought a chiltons but doesnt have what i need please help.

You should be able to get a new plug at Advance or Autozone.When I needed a new alternater I bought a new plug at Advance.

Is it a 1G or 3G Alternator (1G has fan on outside behind the pully, 3G has fan and regulator internal to the alternator). A 3G looks like this, pictures curtesy of Fireguy50.
