will heads off a 94 lightning work on my 302

does anyone one no if my heads off my lightning will work on my 302 i was toldat one time they might but i never got a correct andswer i have a frend who has a spare set and i want to no if they will bolt on thanks the motor in the lightning is a 351w lightning motor its differnt then a regular 351w the motor is beffed up from the factory

i know the lightning heads are gt 40 heads and they are setup for roller lifters and rockers. If your 302 is hydraulic roller then it will work but if not then you would have to change the springs. But the will bolt up to a 302.

yea i no they are gt40 heads thats y i want to chage them to my branco gt40 heads on a bronco brings 67.3 hp according to a dyno charts well ill try to get the guy to come off them this week so i can have a weekend project

You might want to double check your specs. When I was building my race car motor ( I know it's a chevy b-( ) I used a set of 305 heads on my 350 for more power. The reason for this is simple, the 305 heads have a smaller chamber as opposed to the larger 350 heads ( I don't remember what the cc are) this brings the compression ratio up quite a bit thus increasing HP. You are doing the opposite so you might not be helping your HP.

Your idea in theory sounds great but I think you will be disappointed with the reality. I would check to be sure the lightning heads have a smaller CC then your stock heads before you bolt them on.
