I picked up a set of 15x10s from a friend of mine that recently totaled his CJ7. They are the Dukes of Hazard style Charger rims with 5x5.5 bolt pattern. I took the front tire of the Bronco last night and noticed there are some differences from the stock. The center hole that slides over the hub is 4" diameter vs the 3" stock. I don't think that will make a difference, but it looks funny with the gap. The other issue is the plate on the inside of the rim with the lug holes is almost 1/2" thicker than the stock so I don't have enough threads to put the lug nuts on. Has anyone run wheel spacers with extended lugs to solve this or am I going to have to replace all of my lugs around the Bronco with longer ones? How safe are wheel spacers? :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Should I even bother with these rims or wait and buy ones that will fit the Bronco better?

The wheel pilot hole is intended to share the loads with the wheel studs. A poorly fitting wheel may cause the lug nuts to loosen in use. Also, the longer studs won't hold as higha shear load as the stock (shorter) ones.

Thanks for the comments. I was talking to someone else last night and he mentioned that Bronco wheels are hubcentric verses lugcentric for Jeeps and these rims will probably not work for me even though they have the same bolt pattern. I guess I'll sell these and start looking for some others that I can put my 33x12.5x15s on.

Ive been working at discount tires for a while so ive seen a few things like wheels falling off because of spacers. IF you bring your vehicle in to our garage with spacers it aint getting nothing to do with it. i advise you to stay away from the spacers. as far as the extended lugs i dont think it would hurt anything. they are easy enough to change. I think that those wheels would work because ive swaped several jeep wheels over to fords. if they dont hit the calipers or shocks and you can get nuts on them, then roll em.

I was at Discount Tire Friday getting a tire replaced because of a split and had them look at the rims. They are not going to work. They have 4" of backspacing and touch the top of my calipers on the front just a little bit. I looked at prices of wheel spacers and they cost almost as much as new wheels so I'll hold off and stick with my 32s until I can find some rims that will fit better and have the correct backspacing.
