I bought a 1980 bronco for 700 bucks with a straight 6 in it over the summer and its been a great rig but it just doesnt have the power of a V8 I want. I really want a bronco with a 351w. Should I just put a bigger engine in mine or sell mine and buy another bronco with a V8 already in it?

Thanks

The 300I-6 is a stump-puller, but in your case I would buy another Bronco with a 351W since you don't have much invested in this one.

It depends on if you can do the engine swap or if you would have it done by a shop. Also depends on if you have the funds to buy and build a 351w. If you can do both I would not sugest buying another bronco. You do not have that much invested in youre current truck so why buy another one just make youre's better and it will be what you want.

Thanks for all your guy's help. I just bought a 3 in body lift and 33/10.50x15 boggers so it will look sweet but I wont be getting any speeding tickets anytime soon :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Check to see what your gear ratio is, just look at the tags on either axle. IF you have the 3.08 gear ratio, you will feel really underpowered with 33's. A 3.50 is O.K. A gear swap would be easier to handle than a motor swap. If you do a search for engine specs in the forums, you will see that the I6 is close in Hp to the 1980 V8's. And even the V8 Bronco's won't win many drag races, but you should get better gas milage with the I6. Just make sure there's no vacuum leaks and the carb is tuned, as either one can rob alot of power. Hope you keep the Bronco and have fun with it!!
