No specific question,Just having fun figuring out what I'm in for.Or like I said should I run like ****

Like I said right now I have to figure how to get the passenger door to latch ?It does have a rusted out rocker panel,But the frame and door jams look pretty good. And I'm sure pretty soon I will have to try to get bigger tires 31's on it now with no lift I thought maybe 33's until I can get lift.

Rusted/rotted rockers are a fairly common problem. You can get a replacement rocker easily enough and weld it in, you could also rivet it in as well (pop rivets are frowned upon by some but bottom line here is that they get the job done)

The hardest part of taking the top off is finding someone to help you. It's not very heavy but it's an akward thing to rassle with so it's a 2-man job. Other than that go for it, my kids LOVE it, I'm constantly telling my daughter to stop screaming "WoooHoooo" or to at least wait until we're out of the neighborhood.

Here's a quick shot of mine w/stock suspension, 33's & *******.

Mongo, you're in for one helluva good time going from a Heep to a fullsize Bronco. There's a couple ways you can get the door to latch. IF it's crooked or sagging and doesn't line up with the bodylines of the fender and rear quarter panel, the bushings inside the door hinges may be badly worn out. You can adjust the door alignment on the hinges by losening the four bolts that hold the hinge tothe fender/A-pillar. You can also adjust the striker at the B-pillar, where the latch hits. That one uses a T-50 Torx bit. IF ther's no plastic bushing on the striker (may have fallen off), you can replace the striker with a new one. It may be easier to see what's out of whack by pulling the inner panel off of the door, and checking the latch, handle and linkage for any problems. AS for removing the hardtop, jsut beware that once you do it, you may not want to put it back on!!! I've had mine off for about 4 years now on the 84. If you have to put it back on, no need to worry about leaks (unless your seals are bad). Just store it on top of some boards or old tires off of the floor/ground, and don't stand it up on one end. That could warp it and make it hardr to put back on. JSM84

As it has already been said, You are in for one **** of a good time, but you are also in for some problems but you are in the right place if / when you start to have trouble. The hard top is supposed to be removable! I've tried to take the top off by myself a few times, coming off is a bitch but going back on alone is even worse. I've used a tall table in the past to slide it on to and slide it back on. The only problem with using that method is you risk ruining the seal on the bottom of the top. Some people have made a type of hoist using a boat trailer hand winch and some way to hook the top with out digging into the seal.

Good Luck and let us know if you have any problems.

When I took my top off I just got under it and and found the "balancing" point and walked off the back onto a chair. I wouldn't recomend it though, it plays **** on the neck and shoulders. Two people are the best. I had my sister-in-law help put it back on. She's a tuff one!

Bidi is funny as **** making his sis in law help. Mongo be careful where you put the bolts and screws be sure to keep them in a safe place. I have been fixing my bronco for the last year. Some months I dumped some serious cash and other months just a lot of work. I started my project with safety. Making sure all the brakes were in good shape and rebuilt the rear brakes and master cylinder. Just go over the truck front to back checking all joints, all bolts. These things are a lot more fun if you are not stranded somehwere. Make sure you steering and shocks are in good order too.

Pull the cover off the back tailgait and soak the mechanism that does the window in some kind of lubricant, I prefer PB-Blaster but WD-40 works too. IF your wiring is right, that may let it go down and such. I have to do that every so often and there is a forum here somewhere that has a diagram to diagnose the problem if it's electrical.
