Hey everyone, I've got a 95 5.8 auto with a weird deal. I don't drive it much, it's got only 100.000 miles on it, and one day my wife drove it to work. On her way home it died. I met her and put gas in it and it started up. I drove it home but noticed that the power door locks weren't working. Hmm. I started checking on other things and noticed that the rear window would not operate with the key. The next day the battery was completely dead. I replaced it and the next day it was dead again. Charging system fine. Dead short somewhere but nothing obvious. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Use an indicator light in series with the battery cable. Start pulling fuses and take note of which fuse causes the light to go out when removed. Then you will have to do a little more serious looking at that circuit. Suspect areas are where wires are close to manifolds, close to were they can rub on metal, or where they pass through metal.

Some diagrams that may help.

Not long ago, we had a short... pulled fuses and didn't find one that reduced the drain. It was a bad diode in the alternator.
