VSS on transfer case?

Please Help.

I have a 94 Eddie Bauer 5.8L FSB. I have been having periodic problems with hard shifting (esp. between 1st & 2nd). Sometimes it will shift totally out of gear for a little while, then re-engage hard. Both of these scenerios have happened multiple times in a number of different circumstances. (hot/cold engine, climate changes, etc.)

I have already done a tranny fluid and filter change as well as replaced the speed control sensor on the rear diff. I have read a few posts talking about a vss on the transmission or transfer case. Is this the case for my bronco? I tried looking the part up on www.motorcraft.com, but to no avail. (or could this be a speedometer problem) I'm not sure where to go here and I would appreciate any input. Thanks, Brad

I have also had my speedometer "peg-out" for several minutes, then return to normal. This has only happened once.

i can almost gaurantee its you TPS. i had that problem. start there.

I believe someone else recently had a similar prob & Miesk5 posted something about there being a TSB out on the issue.
