yo,

Gauge readings should be between 13.2 and 14.5 volts with the ignition on and the engine running. Higher readings could indicate a failed regulator or poor wiring connectors which are common for 90 year

Alternator Connector Failure, 85-90 Bronco, Econoline Source: by Nastra.com

Alternator Connector, Ford IAR replacement Source: by genco1.com

NAPA or Ford dealer should have the good replacement parts.

& another poss. Ford IAR Burn Up - loose connection between rectifier & wiring harness

gl!

I like the diy stuff bec I need $ for other thAngs...but get a free ck at a local Auto Electric shop; & maybe install a rebuilt unit or a 3G if you have audio upgrades
