Hi -

My tailgate vapor barrier rotted and was removed. Do I need to replace it?

Where can I find one?

Help greatly appreciated !!

YO!

I use it bec. it helps keep out fine dirt particles when tg is down.

Use some mylar avail @ Wally Mart, etc. I use duct tape and 3M weatherstripping adhesive (toothpast tube type) to adhere it back in-place.

Or an auto audio shop may have some more $ stuff.

Also wipe off regulator and **** it w/lithium grease (white, avail @ anywhere.

Also ck outer window weather strip' water (we clean it and use alcohol pad on it to revive da rubber) gets in bad strips & causes lots of rust inside.

Just did some rust removal yesterday on our 96! Had just a little bit at inner bottom along welded seam. Used Rust Bullet

Excellent !

Will do.

Just did some rust "proofing". Grinded. Sanded. Prep'd with "Metal Ready", coated with POR-15, coated with paint on bedliner and then sprayed with bedliner. Now have a nice protective trim where rust seems to appear on the Bronco's. Also fixed up the bumpers the same way. Dunno if the Vermont Rust is coming back but will post back in spring with a report

Yes, thank you, I just ordered the tailgate window gaskets and will install this week.

I appreciate the suggestion of lubing the regulator - but, ah, what's a regulator?

Also, while working on the tailgate I figured out why the defrost wasn't working. The area where the wire clips onto the window was worn off. This first part of the defroster grid has been rubbed off somehow. I used "copper paint" to touch up the worn off spot. Now I've read that this can crack the window? Am I reading bad information?

Thanks again for the help ! The reply posts in this forum have been great !

Here is it is;

Regulator, Window, pics & part number in a 94 Source: by Chris ARegulator, Window, Arm Repairs in a 94 Source: by R94BroncoXLT

The motor is attached to it; clean rust off, ****.

Also, I saw an old post you made about the exhaust heat shield; is this the one on the cat converter?

Ford has a TSB on it; Buzzing-Rattling Noise TSB 98-20-10 for 93-96 "A "buzzing" or "rattling" noise from the exhaust system may be caused by a loose heat shield attachment to the catalytic converter, catalytic pipes, muffler pipes and/or muffler. The noise is noticeable during normal driving conditions or at engine idle..." Source: by Ford via v8sho

Mine was rattling; I replaced what looked like a speed nut/bolt w/ss nut & bolt.

Defrost grid; haven't heard of that; did you use the Frost Fighter kit? they usually work A-OK.
