Vacuum Advance on Distributer

OK< another question. My distributer has a vacuum advance on it. Is there any certian way to check if it is working. Should be simple, but thought I would ask. Thanks,TW

hook a timing light to it and run up the RPMs while you watch the indicator.

If you don't see it advancing with the timing light as Seabronc said.,

Make sure you're vac. tube is attached to the correct port.

Also., you can static test the dizzy by pulling vac. by mouth. With the dist. cap off, you can see it move., & actually hold it by blocking the tube with your tongue. (this will expose a leak if one exists)

go buy a hand vac pump.get um at parts stores.called mitey vac.has a vacume gauge.
