not being a smart ass seems the previous owner of my truck replaced the cats with the single cat set up (walker 16120) all well and good but now the damn y is split right where the o2 stub is and leaks bad and is loud as **** the point is why replace the cat thats not bad and not just the pipe found one a few years back for a customer think list was around 80 from napa but they are unable to figure out what it was now that I need it any ideas would be great

yes i could just weld it....if the wire feed on the shop welder wasn't shot and besides it is really bugging me that i cant find it

i think the y-pipe comes with the cats so welding might be the way to go @-)

A friend of mine built a y-pipe when he put a 302 in his RX-7. Turned out pretty good, I was pretty impressed. Right after he built one for his '78 Ford 4x4. Is that an option for you?

Here is Walker's catalog for your yr and engine; appears y is incl. w/cc

16120 Direct-Fit Converter 1988-91 Ford Bronco w/5.8L, 8 Cylinder Engine

& Rock Auto's price, etc. for it

to confirm y is incl. ask Walker tech, they are great! and I believe they are OEM for most Bronco exhaust parts; esp the hangers which fit perfectly and are avail at Advance Auto parts, etc. you may be able to get just the Y.

I checked LMC Truck, Looks like Your only option will be to buy the cat and all. Darn expensive if you ask me, I'd try and build one.

yeah kind of reached the same conclusion today walker did make the Y itself until about 3 years ago now is only available as part of 16120 and wish the advance auto around here did they carry maremont and LMC is a good source they are ussually pretty high and for lack of better words seem snooty and not friendly towards modified rigs again just my opinion so am thinking that might go with the magna flow version of the walker part but curios how much better the flow is over stock worth the 50 more or not then again NAPA shows list at over 400 so could be worse

and as far as building it yes i could but the shop I work at now has a very crappy pipe bender no tube notcher and the welder took a crap last month and we are awaiting replacement
