I have a 90 auto with 351 and power windows and locks. The turn signals come on, but I have to hold the lever up or down, it will not stay on. I was told (by the guy at the auto parts store, I think) that it was something on the steering column, but he said he wasn't sure. Anyone know what part this is and how hard it may be to fix?

Autozone with tilt Part Number: SW264 $54.99

No Tilt Part Number: SW268 $39.99

Remove steering wheel, unplug the harness under the dash and remove the middle out of the switch end of the harness to pull wires out the connector. Switch under steering wheel will have 3 or 4 screws in it, once they're out pull the switch out along with wires.

The new switch goes in just like it came out, take apart the connector and fish the wires down thru the column first.

Might want to tie a piece of string to the wires before you pull the old switch out. Once the old switch is out tie the string to the end of the new wires and use the string to help pull the wires down through the column. I always have a hard time getting the wires fished down through the column till i started doing this way.
