are you looking for advice on a full solid axle conversion?

what kind of "power" are you talking about? are you looking at a bigger engine, bigger tires?

You can upgrade to OEM stub shafts from a Dana50 TTB out of a F-250, but it's only a slight improvement IMHO. I ran a fullspool in the stock TTB front on the 84 Bronco before going to the D60 SAS, with minor breakage on one side with 35" tires. You might chekc with JBG, but I don't know of anyone making chromoly axleshafts for the D44 TTB.

I never heard of a 525 but I have hear of a 528 which is a 460 that has been bored .30 over and has a stroker crank and longer rods.

If you can be more specific as to what you want to do with the Bronco, you might get some more detailed advice. Like are you planning to run the mud drags, drag strip or perhaps a dirt track? In those cases, both the front and rear 1/2-ton axles would need to be strengthened to handle 550-600 HP, or you'll likely be breaking parts on a regular basis. Upgrading to one-ton drivetrain parts and doing a SAS may cost a bit more, but you're still going to spend several hundred $$$ per axle to 'beef' them up. I switched to the F-350 drivetrain on my 84 Bronco primarily for mud drags, with some mods for trail use. JSM84

The kind of horsepower you would get out of that it would be plain silly to keep the half ton susp. ! ton is the way to go

A great 1/2 ton rearend for the Bronco is swapping it for a Ford 9.75. It has the ABS tone ring and VSS and will bolt right up and be only 1 inch wider on each side. The spring plates will need to be moved but thats only 20 bucks to weld at a local ****. shop so no problems there. This axle actually exceeds a semi floating (3/4 ton) Dana 60 for strength. They can be found in many later '01-up F150's there is even a disc brake version.

I agree with jsm84 and yardape that kind of power you really need to think 3/4 or 1 ton suspension...1/2 ton won't hold up very long to the abuse...The old saying do it right or don't do it at all...I think you'd be better off and a whole lot happier with the finished product....Good luck and post some pics of the finished truck.....
