I believe the 90 has two fuel pumps, one in the tank and one on the frame rail near the driver seat. Check them to see if they are running.

Good luck,

:)>-

my brothers 90 had 2 pumps...can you hear your fuel pump working at all?..fuel pump relays like to go a lot on broncos/pick ups and that could cause it not to start. as to the gas getting to the injectors it should pressurize the system pretty quickly. a new fuel pump relay runs around 15-20 bucks a piece (theres 2)

'90 only has 1 fuel pump. In the tank.

The inertia switch is on the firewall under the dash right above the dimmer switch.

Make sure the two ground wires attached to the rad support are hooked up, they would cause this problem as well. They are held in place by 10mm bolts, one on each side of the rad

If you have no CEL; we do the pinieland method here; on a COLD engine, get some rags and alum foil and cover the engine area around the fuel rail's Schrader Valve, wear safety glasses, and have fire ext ready, but on a cold engine, no one smoking and just a short cranking time, it will be fine.... crank engine; depress valve to see if you can squirt some gas out under pressure.

here is valve's pic Ian's pic of valve

if no flow,

other possibilites as mentioned by other BroncoZone members here;

Clogged filter

Fuel Filter Replacement, EFI type, 87-96 by Ian

Fuel Filter, Clogged/Restricted Fuel Filter & Driveability Symptoms; poor performance, lack of power & hard starting caused for 90-93 by smpcorp.com

Could be the regulator also, a common problem...

Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement by 1994xlt

not a "most likely cause" tho w/this TSB:

Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) Delay TSB 93-22-14 by Ford for 90-93

Do you have access to another distributer to try? Maybe the pick-up inside the distributor is toast. (too early cant remember the technical name)

Miesk, You seem to have all the technical terms down, What is a CEL? Never heard of it.

Sorry Y, CEL is Check Engine Light; if he has one lit, then he can do a Test for codes; Ryan has best Test article

He can do the Key On Engine Off test; typical Codes for his condition could be;

226 IDM signal not received

654 MLP sensor not in park position

524 When the PCM commanded the fuel pump on, voltage was not detected on FPM.

554 Fuel Pressure Regulator Control (FPRC) solenoid circuit failure

556 Fuel Pump circuit failure

557 Fuel pump relay coil resistance failure

542 Fuel pump circuit failure

Why cant you pull the gear off? Its just held on by a small roll pin

yes, as Yard advised or get a loaner tool from most parts places, esp the place where you are buying the parts....

http://www.arizonatools.com/tools/ignition.../detail/THX415/

"Thexton 415 Ford Distributor Gear Installer and Remover. Works on all Ford vehicles with TFI-IV ignition systems 1983 and up. Removes the distributor gear so that the hall effect switch may be serviced - installs gear back on shaft after servicing. High strength steel construction. Tool is designed not to apply any stress to the gear teeth, eliminating damage to both gear and shaft. Replacement distributor gears are not available should they become damaged. The distributor must be replaced as a unit."

As Yard advised, another distributor is the way to go; solves a lot of problems...but to save $$, know how it is...

Some more FYI stuff;

"! ! ! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY PRIOR TO INSTALLATION ! ! !

OVERVIEW:

The following information covers the installation of a new distributor gear onto an existing distributor. When

replacing the distributor gear, it is important that you choose the appropriate gear for your application. If you have

questions regarding your gear selection, please contact the Ford Racing Tech
