My transmission seems to be confused at 60. Not 59 or 61 but 60. It seems like it doesn't know if it want's to be in over drive or not. Anyone ever had this problem before? I make it a simple fix while i'm out and do just over or just under 60. Also, if I'm doing a low speed (30-35) and I step on the skinny pedal, it's like my tranny just goes into dummy mode and drops into neutral. It does the same thing at about 80 too but I honestly don't make going 80 in my Bronc' a habbit. Kind of scary if you ask me, the fast speed is for the track in a car designed for it. Well, just a question I would trow out there. Thanks for letting me a part of this awesome site!!!

While the E4OD tranny might be on it's last leg and about to fail, it could be a shift sensor problem for the OD. When you have the problem again, very lightly touch the brake pedal (like you do to turn off cruise control, just a tap). IF the tranny shifts back into third and the RPMs increase, the sensor just might be bad. Sometimes, metal filings will attach to the sensors and foul them up.

That there is some good info, I will try that, I am also getting the same problem here and there.

I learned that from a local tranny shop. Noticed a "shudder" around 55mph while towing a boat to South padre with a 92 truck. Figured the tranny was a goner, and went to a couple of shops. Two said I needed a rebuild, but this one hopped in the truck with me and took a test drive. Cost like $60 to replace the shift sensor, and got my business from then on. JSM84

I have the E4OD so basically, it's getting ready to drop out on me huh? Well, I guess there's a new project! Never rebuilt a tranny but there's a first time for everything!
