Put it in neutral while stopped and it should come out, if it still grinds when you move the shifter(assuming it has a shifter). If that dont work turn the truck off and the it should come out. That how ive always gotten mine out when it didn wanna come outta low. Seem to be alot of trouble with Tcases right now, must be that time of year when they decide not to work or people wanna swapem :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Possible. Is it electric shift or manual? There's some troubleshooting tips in the Tech Articles forum, too. JSM84

I wouldnt think so, unless the case is grinding while it in 4wheel drive your forks are fine. But wait for JSM84, Broncobill78 or Seabronc, they have more experiance then me.

JSM is dead nuts right, start with the basics. What is this, a manual or automatic 4x4 ? If you can add the specifics of your truck to your signature it will help greatly.

Now, having said all that lemme know if you're still stuck. The BW1356 is *supposed* to have a manual bypass whereby you can use a 1/2" socket extension to manually change gears. I went to ck this out on my 88' only to find that a Prev/owner had swapped in an NP208 to make it a *complete* ******* FrankenTruck. I *have*the 88' factory manuals showing everything for the manual & electric BW1356's so let me know if there's anything you need scanned.

na man the shift moror is fine its something inside the tcase thats loose when u take the motor off it turns when u push the switch but the pin that sticks out of the tcase where the motor bolts up wont click into place it just spins. i have no clue how to fix that.

I have rebuilt many of these and had 2 fail myself . Usually there is no grinding noise it will just all of a sudden drop in 4 low and it doesnt matter how fast your going , What happens is the oil pump pickup line gets hard and cracks starving the pump which in time locks to the shaft when it does this there is a small metal plate that keeps the pump from spinning on the shaft that will be forced to spin around and brake this in turn slams into the 4 low shift fork breaking it and causing the case to enguage into 4 low last one I had that happen to was around 50 MPH almost like slamming on the brakes . If yours hasnt dont the 4 low part yet it more than likely will . I get my parts to do these from a shop called riverside gear the guys name is Bob Casaday 1-877-614-4327 . Hes usually got everything and good prices . I would rebuild it yourself there very easy just have to pay attention but nothing like the old cast iron models all ball bearing in these . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
