Question: I want to get rid of my electronic 4 wheel and install a BW1356 manual transfer case. I am not sure of what components I need. I looked up the transfer case and looks to be around 700-900 dollars. Where can I get the shifter and any linkage I need? Also what else would I be needing? Is this something that I can do pretty painless?

Try browsing/searching the forums , as this topic has been discussed many times. You need to find the linkage for the manual t-case specific to the transmission you have. If you have the E4OD auto, it will be different from a manual version. Also, the speedometer gear was removed from the t-case after 1992, so you want to be sure you get the newer version of the B-W13-56 without it. The shifter, boot and floor plate can be found in a local salvage yard, or perhaps on e-bay. The price should be around $50 for all of that, and $350-$400 for a used t-case. Like you stated, a new/rebuilt one is only a few hundred more.
