crawl underneath and lightly tap it with a hammer. the solenoid on the shift motor is getting stuck. means its on its way out. what your hearing is the relay clicking.

On your year ford vacuum has nothing to do with your T case shifting in fact the vacuum has nothing to do with your 4x4 system at all . LOL sounds like you have chevy or jeep friends :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

your friends are ********. if you have the push button t-case, it is totally electronic. thats not a soda can bolted to the back of it. you can even trace the harness underneath your seat under the carpet. do like i said, tap the "can" on the back of the case and then try to shift it. if that dont work, pull the motor and solenoid (handful of 10mm bolts) and manually shift it back to 2hi. its not hard to do at all
