Trying to convert my son's 87 F/S Bronco from the elec. shift to manual. I have purchased a manual shifter for the 1356 x-fer case but the seller thinks it came off of a C-6. My son's bronco has an AOD will the shifter work. I am also unable to find the shift lever that bolts to the x-fer case itself. One end has an oblong hole that bolts to the x-fer case the other end has a "***" that plugs into a grommet on the shifter lever.. Thanks for any help. Chuck

CHuck, I'm getting the shifter and linkage for the B-W 1356/AOD combo from Jdenninger, and will post a pic when he sends it to me. I was hoping to take a pic or two of the linkage on my 86 Bronco. Even though it is a manual tranny, I think it has a B-W1356 t-case by the side-mounted shift lever.

Was unable to look at that today, as I had to tow her home the last mile. LONG story, but the battery is dead, had a dude hook up a battery charger to it. Instead of charging it fully, he just quick-started it, and ran out of gas on the way to my house. Then it wouldn't stay running for more than 10 seconds using jumper cables. So I just hooked on to it with a chain and dragged it home. I wasn't going to leave the Bronco on the side of the highway overnight!!!

you will be able to use the lever you may just have to get it cut and re-welded for proper length

I crawled under the 86 today, and it has a NP208 t-case. The shifter linkage is very similar to the B-W13-56 linkage for the T-18 tranny. I think I posted a pic or two at FSB.
