Transfer Case fill plug

Well was topping off my oils and fluids for a trip to the woods next week and discovered that my Bronco's former owner stripped out the transfer case fill plug. The darn thing is a perfect circle and nothing will bit to turn it. Any ideas for the proper tool and size to get the plug out I already have a new one to go back in.

I'll bet if you go to Sears, they will have a tool that can remove it, like a large easy out.

I checked the web site but all they have is a full set for more money then I want to spend. I don't want to spend that much money for something I may only use once. Was hopeing someone know of a tool or a way to get it out without having to buy a hole set.

If you can get in there to weld another nut onto the top of the remaining plug. ...... the heat fr. welding should help it pop loose.

If not a nut, then a piece of square stock to get a crescent wrench on.

That's assuming there's no meat left to get a good quality vise-grip attached.... after heating the area.

you have an 89? w/BW 1356?

If so, that has a magnesium case so tell that to the welder

I got it out after my second trip to Sears to buy my second easy out. It came out pretty easy after I got the right tool payed under $10.00 for everyting I needed. I went ahead and flushed the transfer case which had a pretty dark fluid and replaced it with clean fluid.
