tranny woes

i just bought my second fullsize bronco the newest one with a 300 straight six c6 tranny and np2o8 transfer case it is real hard to to get in to neutral or 4 lo on the transfer case and when i finally get it in if i try to take it out of 4 lo or neutral all it does is grind gears this is with the tranny in neutral any help would be helpfull

Try puttin it in park instead. The problem you are facing is that the internals of the tranny are still spinning. Not enough to move the thing but spinning none the less. If you put it in park the pawl will keep anything from moving out the tailshaft. I had to do this with mine when it was a c-6 as well.

yeah but do you have any idea why the tranny would still spin?

Yep...its the nature of the beast. There is not really an engine force on the tranny but the force of the torque converter spinning is causing engouh friction in the tranny to make the parts spin. Actually if you have it in neutral and then shove the t-case into gear quickly...it wont grind.

thanks for the info i just drained the tranny fluid and there was 15 quarts that is just a little over full
