tranny info??

I have an 88 fsb with a 351 and c6 with a borg warner 1345 transfer case. I switched out the c6 for a t18 with the np??? transfer case(there from an 85 fsb) but cant get the shifter for the transfer case in correctly.I was wondering if anyone knew if i could just use the borg warner instead?

What problem are you having with the shifter? Is it hitting the floor plate? It may be easier to cut the floor plate or find one for the T-18/NP208 combo. The B-W 13-45 will bolt up to the T-18, but you may have the same issues, and the shifter linkage is different than that for the NP208. The t-case linkage for the C-6 bolts to the C-6, whereas for the manual trannies it bolts to the extension housing. And the C-6 is much longer than any manual tranny.

The problem with the shifter is the brackets for that transfer case (208) are from an 85 and dont attach to the truck in the same way the old one (1345) did. I was thinkin maybe it would have been easyer and cleaner to use the (1345) and its shifter assembly if it would 've bolted on ,but i guess I'll have to make a new bracket or something to make the (208) work. Thanks for the info you saved me alot of time. I'm glad someone said something or I would be under the truck trying to put the (1345) on the t18 tomarrow morning.
