may depend on year models,i put a 95 351 in my 90 bronco, and fried the tranny instanly,in 95 ford went to ectronic shft, this took a tranny that was just enough longer that my 351 pushed the converter into the pump and fried it.the other problem is the cable linkage that runs to the top of the motor beside the throttle linkage.it has an adjustment on it and must be set perfect to make it shift right.strongly suggect you have a good ford type tranny person set it,it's real touchy and must be just right to get it to shift..hope you come out better than i did.once around the block, cost me a new tranny..good luck
