I posted here recently about my 1994 Bronco being totaled. I was not at fault but my insurance company was handling the claim. They were the ones who siad my Bronco was totaled. Well, the guy who was at fault insurance company finally accepted responsibility for the wreck so they took over. Last week I received a check in the amount of $3900 for repairs from his insurance company. Thay say it is repairable. I deposited the check in a savings account and went to the body shop that has my truck. There I was told that the frame is bent badly and they probably would be able to repair it but when they call the insurance company for additional money for the repairs, the insurance company will probably total it if the cost is too high. They say they have been through this many, many times.
I used $400 of the insurance check for a payment I was way behind on [-X . I was told that the repairs would around $3000 just after the wreck by the body shop. Of course, this was before they had a chance to look underneath.
Anyway, it looks now that the reapirs are either going to be more than the $3900 check they sent or either they will total it. Either way I feel as if I will be screwed
( .
My Bronco has gone from repairable to totaled to repairable and now possibly totaled once again within less than 3 weeks b-( !
Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!
