Tires

Got a 77 uncut with about 2 - 2 1/2" of lift. Any suggestions on tire size I have P235 75 15 now but would like to go a little bit bigger on the 15" rims. Thinking of 31x10.5x15. Also any suggestions on a good all around brand. I'm thinking about either the Bridgestones (REVOS), BF Goodrich (ALL TERRAIN T/A KO) or Yokohoma (GEOLANDER) all terrains.

Nope...,

It's not the height so much as the width.....

Drop into your local tire store with your tape measure & do the math. You'll find you need a pretty narrow tire to be safe. >

Can't go wrong with Michelin or BFG's (same Co.)

Yea I was kind of afraid of that. I might just have to go with 16" wheels then I should have a few more options. I was thinking of maybe 255 70 16. I really want to keep it uncut so I guess I'm just going to be limited on sizes. I could lift the rear another inch or so but then I'd have to buy bigger coil springs up front again to balance it out. Any thoughts?

I do like that look...un-cut, A little lift.., with clean look'n tires & wheels....even stock wheels & caps.

You might talk to US Wheel..they do custom back spacing...I've not done it but there is room to increase the "back-spacing"... there-by, tucking the wheel under/in closer to the shock, etc.

The front, however, may rub on the radius arm with increased B/S

Maybe they can help....

What do you think about going with the 16" wheels and possibly moving up from the 235 75 15 to either a 245 75 16 or a 255 70 16, I would just like something a little bit bigger nothing extreme. I have the 15" chrome steel wagon wheel style now but I really like the look of the 16" outlaw II or baja style. I got about 2" of clearance on the back and 6" on the front. I also could even add a extra leaf if needed.

Naa...not light years. Just trying to find a good all around size in all terrain tire. Don't mind taking it off road thats what they were built for! Just not looking to make a rock crawler out of it. Thinking of going with the BF GoodRich TA K/O in the 30x9.50R15 or with a little more lift the 31x10.50R15. I'll let you know how it works out when I'm done with it, got to get it painted first though its been a long time coming. Thanks for the info though!

I like where you're going with the 30X9.50R15 BFG All Terrain. It will look good in the fender wells and From Experience I know these are VERY dependable tires I run a set on my daily driver that I run in the dirt every sunday.

Yea I think the 30x9.50Rx15 BFG's is going to be my better option. I just want a decent size without spending more on lift packages. I'm saving that for the paint job and installing new carpet, once thats done then comes the new rubber. I'll post some pics when I get her all done!

Hi I have a '67 uncut with 33s on mid80's steel rims with the '67 hubcaps. New heavy duty srings up front,1.75 inch block in the back. I have a snowplow for winter. Rubs in front on tight turns, but not for driving or light wheeling. Tires are BFG alteraines 33x9.50. I got them at walmart for 130 plus tax apice.

The bfg's are an excelent choice. They are dependable & have good traction on virtually any road condition. I run em as a winter tire. I had 31x10.5x15 on my 76 before i cut it w/ a 4 lift. There was no rubbing on the radius arms. I cut it & installed bushwacker flares and now run 33x12.5x15 mt's . They rub the radius arms now when tight turning.

scrub, what gear ratios do you have on the diffs? How does it run and where do you run the bronc? thnx

i am running 31x10.5x15 on my 69 right now and they rub the arms but only if you take at dip with the wheels turned almost to the stops. flat driving they arey fine.

bingen i also noticed you asked about gear ratio and stated you wanted to run 33's with a 3.50 rear. there is no problem with that. my 75 has a 3.50 and i drove it on the interstate all the time with my 305/85/16 MTR's and if i remember right that is just shy of 33's. had stock 302 c4 auto in it and cruesed about 2600 doing 80mph. once i get the new motor and wiring done will be doing it again.

Thanks for the link bingen, good info on that site. My 77 is still in the paint shop I hope to have it back in the next few weeks. They got the top done (Wimbleton White) and should hit the body (Ford Medium Blue) soon. Last I checked it was primed and prepped. They have really took their time with my Bronco, there were little dings and some small indentions I didn't even knew I had that have been fixed, so the paint job should really look good. Once I get her all done I will be putting new tires on. I will post some pics when its all done. Thanks to all for your inputs.
