Alright, I've got a few problems that I have questions about.

First off, when I start my engine, My oil pressure guage does not register any oil pressure at all. After about 30 seconds of idling, the guage runs up to about the "N" in normal, floats there for about 5 seconds and then goes back down to nothing. After about another 30 seconds, the guage runs up to around the "R" in normal, where it normally registers, and stays there until I shut it off. Another note; this only happens when the truck has been sitting for more than eight hours. If I just run into wal-mart for a gallon of milk, the oil pressure comes right up at start-up. I doubt it's a sending unit, I just put a new one in about three months ago. You guys think it could be a clogged oil pick-up. Oh I guess I should note that the engine runs perfectly normal. I'm pretty sure the engine is getting good oil pressure. Rings are good, plugs all look perfect and it doesn't burn any oil.

Second problem; I've got a bad EGR valve. The engine idles a little rough, is the bad EGR valve a probable cause? Also, I think it's causing my CEL to come on. You guys know any where I can get a good deal on a new one? NAPA sold me one and it turned out it was the wrong one. The "right" one was a lot more expensive. $200+ I think.

Third problem; There is a shudder somewhere in the drivetrain when I accelerate from a stop. I don't feel it shudder when I stop. At first I thought it was caused by my bad radius arm bushings, but I replaced them and it didn't help. A guy at auto zone suggested something about a bushing between the tranny and the t-case. I've never heard of anything like that before. Any ideas? Any help on these subjects will be greatly appreciated.

OOPs!

The sender requires a good contact from the threads to the engine block. If you put Teflon tape on the threads, it can not make good contact. The threads should seal without anything on them. Snug it up and if it leaks a little tighten it a little until it stops. Also, check that there is a ground strap from the intake manifold to the fire wall. It is needed for a proper ground path. The instruments are grounded on the other side.

Good luck,

:)>-

i would have said u joints too on the shudder. i would address it. an old f150 of mine had a shudder and i put it off. one day the the joint at the back (under the bed) broke and somehow caught the pavement in a way that the front of the driveshaft went through the cab floor nearly impaling me. needless to say it was pretty damn scary. it was a freak thing but, every time i feel that shudder or hear that ping when shifting into reverse i get it fixed asap.
