alright the temp gauge on my bronco is working. the last owner said it stopped working.... so he put a new gauge under the dash its a bolt on after market gauge, now it itsnt working either it just stays at a constant 190 degrees even when i get in the truck in the morning when it hasnt been toughed since the night before it reads 190

so i figure the aftermarket gauge is crap and id like to just get rid of it but is it possible that the t-stat is out and thats why it isnt responding?

whats the best way of making the cluster temp gauge work? a new cluster? digital sounds nice......crap i dont ahve money for this truck hahaha

Engine Coolant Temperature Sender for Temperature Gauge Defect TSB 95-13-2 for with a build date code prior to 2774 (277th day of 1994); PN F1SZ-10884-A; by Ford via Steve83

Steve writes; "....TSB 95-13-02 Erratic Temperature Sender

Factory temperature senders with a date code before 2774 are known to be defective. The code is stamped into the side of the hex. The format is the Julian date + the last digit of the year, so that's the 277th day of 1994. So 0085 is good; 1934 is bad; 3034 is good; 2765 is good; 3582 is bad.

The sender should test at 74 Ohms cold; 9.7 Ohms hot.

If you're having trouble with your temp gauge, try to read the date off the sender before any other diagnosis. A new sender from NAPA is under $10..."
