Ok, I have read all the discussions on the damn tailgate. My question is this. My tailgate window is stuck in the down position. The keyswitch on the tailgate looks as though is has been gutted out (no wires coming out of it). My switch on the dashboard doesn't work.

I want to jumper the window motor to see if I can get the motor/window to go up.

I have read that I need two jumpers to jump the motor.

Jump the Y/R wire coming from the motor to the positive terminal of a 12 volt battery. Is this all I need to do? Do I need another jumper to ground?

I am confused. Please help!

Take a battery charger 6 amp or so . Put the black lead on the yellow wire and the red lead on the red wire the window will either go up or down if the motor is good to make it go the other way reverse the wires . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I have a 1990 Bronco XLT. My tailgate window has trouble going down. It will go down about 5 inches than stop. I have to push it to get to go all the way down. I'm pretty sure it hasn't come out of the track. When I shut the tailgate it is very loose. Is there any way I can tighten up the tailgate to seal better. Would I have to put new striker bolts or clamps on it? All help would be appreciated.

You should have started a new thread, but it sounds like the drive gear in the motor is bad. You can get a replacement gear from Jeff's Bronco graveyard. Then remove the motor and replace the gear.

Good luck,

:)>-
