I have a 1985 351W. How do I replace the tachometer? The one I have now does not work so I am replacing it . Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the decorative piece under the steering conumn

Remove the shroud on the steering wheel

Remove three screws on the dash cove above the instruments

Remove the two knobs on the left (a strait pick inserted behind them to release the ****)

Remove the instrument bezel

Disconnect the shifter threaad that is attached to the column on the left side

Remove the 6 mounting screws on the instrument panel

Disconnect the speedometer cable (squeez and pull the connector)

Unplug the connnector that attaches to the connector on the rear right side side of the panel (squeeze and pull out the connector)

Remove the instrument panel

Remove the screws holding the clear plastic face on the panel

Remove the 4 cap nuts that hold the tach in place

Reverse to reinstall

I may have left something out, if so you will find it :D

Good luck,
