Gump_Black,
I had never heard of AMSOIL until 2 years ago, but it has been around since 1972. It is big up in the Northwest. AMSOIL does not advertise like convential oils, they leave that up to their Dealers. I started as a perferred customer than became a dealer. I sell mainly to friends and family right now. I like the prices as a dealer. If you plan to use AMSOIL in more than one vehicle I suggest being a Perferred Customer to save money. If you find friends or family that want to use AMSOIL than upgrade to a Dealer status. It will be worth it in the money you will save.
There is not much difference in the oils other than the weight, if your vehicle has over 75,000 miles use the XL-7500. It's a 7,500 mile 6month oil change program for high miles. That is what I use in my bronco with 155,000 miles. I have a 2004 Jeep liberty that the wife drives and I use the series 2000 0W-30, with an AMSOIL filter in both. series 2000 is good for 35,000 or one year. I have my oil analyzed before I change it, if it comes back good I continue to use it for another 35,000 or one year. The same for the Bronco. I would also suggest that you use the engine flush to clean your engine out, I did in both vehicles. I will be change my bronco over to full synthetic for all of the drivetrain. Right now its just the engine oil. I buy the oils and filter for a year, 6 quarts and two filters. AMSOIL filters filter down to 3 to 5 microns and are good for 12,500 miles or 6months, most other filter filter to 20 microns only and need to be change at 3,000 or 3months. In the long run you can save about $50 a year not to include the better mpg. Hope that helps you out if you have further questions I'll PM you my email address.
